Charles Sturt University hosted the Information Technology graduation ceremony at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne last month, and one student has shared his experience of the event.
Mohib graduated with a Master of Information Technology with specialisation in Business Analysis and Computer Networking.
He said: “The ceremony was nothing less than a dream come true. All the attendees of the graduation ceremony had an exceptional charm on their face. For us graduates it was the day to celebrate the journey of hard work and dedication to earn our degrees. For our friends and family, it was a proud moment to see us succeeding on this day.
“Wearing the graduation robe and the cap gives an exceptional feeling of accomplishment.”
Graduation also marks the start of a new journey as students begin to start thinking about their future and what direction to take their career. Mohib said: “It made me realise the responsibilities that I will have to take in my professional career and how I should utilise the knowledge and skills I gained during my studies.”
CEO at IT Masters, Martin Hale, was the keynote speaker at the event where he shared inspiring stories and explained the current market for new graduates.
As part of the ceremony, Mohib was selected to deliver a vote of thanks on behalf of all graduates due to his academic results and contribution to the University, which included a role as an ambassador.
He said: “Throughout my degree I was actively participating in campus events and took up leadership roles, which has helped me develop real life skills.
“I request that current students go out and enjoy university life to its fullest, and the only way to enjoy it is by getting involved. We have the privilege of leadership development programs such STEP, Ambassador Program, PASS and SRC.
The Ambassador Program offers students the chance to represent CSU Study Centres through marketing and events activities, developing skills such as communication, networking and leadership.
Reflecting on his time as a student, Mobib shared: “I was glad to study at the University as it provides incredible support to international students. The lecture timings, location and curriculum are highly appreciable, and they are planned to look at the needs of international students.”
CSU graduations were held on 19 August in Melbourne and Sydney on 22 August. Congratulations to all our graduates.
