Who's it for?

The 12-subject Master of Commerce is designed for students who already have an undergraduate degree, in any field, from a recognised Australian college or university, or an equivalent international qualification.

What's involved?

You can choose to tailor your postgraduate degree to a specific discipline by completing one of the approved specialisations. Choose from Finance, General Management, Human Resource Management, Information Technology, International Management, Marketing and Strategic Management.

Entry Requirements

Academic

An undergraduate degree in any field, from a recognised Australian college or university, or equivalent

English Language

Academic IELTS overall score of at least 6.0 overall, with at least 6.0 in writing and no score below 5.5 (or equivalent grades)

You may receive up to 50% credit for previous studies completed at a postgraduate or equivalent level.

Progression

Whether or not you have work experience, if you successfully complete the Master of Commerce or the Graduate Diploma of Commerce, you may receive credit for up to eight subjects towards the CSU MBA. In this case you may complete your MBA in one year, receiving the Graduate Diploma of Commerce / Master of Commerce and the Master of Business Administration in a total of two years. 

You should declare your plan to continue onto the MBA when you enrol for the Master of Commerce, to make sure you take the correct subjects. If you don’t have an Australian bachelor’s degree in business (or equivalent), you will be required to pass the Graduate Certificate of Commerce before being admitted to the MBA program, with or without credit.

You can choose to tailor your degree to a specific discipline by completing one of the approved specialisations. Subjects can only count towards one specialisation.
