Arriving at the airport

Brisbane Airport (BNE) is the main international airport closest to the city of Brisbane.

When your flight lands at the airport, you have collected your luggage and have passed through customs, make your way to the Airport Visitor Information Desk. Here you will find the Study Brisbane information stands where you can get assistance in finding your way to your accommodation.

If you get lost or need help, look for the Airport Ambassadors in blue shirts who can give you assistance in finding your way around the airport and travelling into Brisbane.

Getting into Brisbane

Train
The AirTrain is a quick and easy way to get to the centre of the City from the Airport. The train departs every 15 minutes and takes approximately 20 minutes to reach central Brisbane. AirTrain stops at all the major train stations in the city, making it easy to travel onwards to your accommodation.

Taxi
The taxi rank Brisbane Airport International Terminal is located at the northern end of the arrivals area on Level 2. In the Domestic Terminal, the taxi rank is located centrally in front of the terminal building. 
There are two taxi companies in Brisbane, Black & White Cabs and Yellow Cab. To find out more about fares and transfers from the Airport by taxi, visit their websites.
Uber is also available in Brisbane which you can arrange via the app.

Public transport in Brisbane

TransLink operate public transport services in Brisbane. 
To get around the city easily and more cost effectively on public transport, we recommend you purchase a GO card which can be used on buses, trains, ferries and trams in the greater Brisbane area. You can buy a GO card at the major train stations in Brisbane and at selected retailers.

CityCycle is Brisbane’s public bike hire service. You can hire a bike from any of CityCycle’s 150 stops around the city. The first 30 minutes of your ride is free, making it a cheap and sustainable option for travel around the city.

Weather

Brisbane is renowned for having some of the sunniest weather in Australia, with around 2,800 hours of sunshine every year.

It has a subtropical climate with hot and humid summers in December to February and maximum temperatures around 30°C. In the winter months of June to August, the weather is cooler and dry but still sunny. Brisbane has most of its rainfall during the summer months and can experience thunder and lightning storms.
