CSU tops graduate employment ranks
Charles Sturt University (CSU) has the highest graduate employment rate in the country and the second-highest graduate starting salaries according to the latest data released on the Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) website.
The data shows 83.6 per cent of CSU graduates are in full-time employment within four months of graduation, compared to the national average of 67.5 per cent, and that CSU graduates have an average starting salary of $60 000 compared to the national average of $52 800.
CSU Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Toni Downes said the results underscored the importance for prospective students of choosing a university that supports their personal and professional goals, rather than making a selection based on the perceived prestige of the institution.
"At Charles Sturt University, we focus on workplace learning and ensuring our graduates develop the real world skills employers are looking for," she said.
"Charles Sturt University's graduate employment rate and graduate starting salaries are among the best in the country and that reflects the high esteem in which employers hold our graduates and the education they receive with us."
CSU is a multi-campus institution providing higher education for a wide variety of professions, with a history of consistently high graduate outcomes.
"Charles Sturt University is proud to be an institution that contributes to the success of its graduates and our communities, be they local, national or international," Professor Downes said.
The publicly available data for all Australian universities is available on the Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching website (QILT), which is compiled by ANU's Social Research Centre.
