Download your International Student Guide to find out everything you need to know about studying and living in Australia.

What to do when you arrive at the airport

Melbourne Tullamarine Airport (MEL) is the main international airport closest to the city of Melbourne. When your flight lands at the airport, and you have collected your luggage and passed through customs, make your way to the Travellers’ Information Service desk on the ground floor of the international arrivals hall in Terminal 2. Here you will find the Student Welcome Desk where you can get assistance in finding your way into Melbourne and to your accommodation.

Getting into Melbourne

The SkyBus is the easiest way to get from Tullamarine Airport to the city. SkyBus runs every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to Southern Cross train station in the centre of the CBD, making it easy to travel onwards to your accommodation by bus, train or tram. For more information, visit the SkyBus website

You can take a taxi from the designated taxi ranks located outside the Tullamarine Airport terminal buildings. Uber is also available in Melbourne which you can arrange via the app. The Airport charges a $4.48 access fee for Uber pickups, which is automatically added to your fare when you request a ride on the app.
