About the course
This course develops an understanding of accounting and the broader business environment through opportunities to study economics, commercial law and business communications. Across this one-year course you will study eight subjects, including two electives.
Who is this course for?
You should choose this course if you do not have an undergraduate accounting degree from a recognised Australian tertiary institution (or equivalent) or are considering progression from this course to the 16-subject Master of Professional Accounting.
Applicants will normally be required to have an undergraduate degree from a recognised Australian tertiary institution or an equivalent qualification, however other academic and/or professional qualifications will also be considered.
What will you study?
You will study eight subjects across one year, worth 64 credit points.
You must complete:
- at least four core accounting subjects
- no more than four elective subjects.

Progression
Upon successful completion of the program you will be awarded your Diploma and be eligible for admission to the Master of Professional Accounting (16 subjects), which is accredited by two professional accounting bodies. Progression is based on professional attainment and/ work experience. You will also receive credit for applicable subjects.
